Perform with musicality and ease, with Master the Breath.

8-Week Online Course for Musicians

Transform your playing and express your artistry the way you know you can.

You’ve been working at your instrument for years, studying, working, practicing, auditioning… So much effort has gone into the goal of becoming a professional musician. You may be finishing your degree, or maybe you are already on the audition circuit.

Either way, you’ve hit a plateau.

There are areas of your playing that just don’t seem to be getting better. They might fall in the category of sound production or technique or musical impact, but the same little faults crop up in every piece, every audition.

They’ve been pointed out to you a few times:

“You played quite well, but…”

How can you infuse your playing with the magic to truly stand out?

With better breath control.

Faulty air usage places impossible demands on the embouchure and body, making it difficult to achieve consistent results, and causing difficulties with vibrato, articulation, and even dexterity—not to mention more obvious symptoms such as noisy breathing, losing control of phrase endings and rhythmic lateness. It can also be a trigger for tension-related physical mannerisms that are detrimental during performance.

You may not even be aware of how much extra effort you are expending to play, and how much easier it could feel.

The good news is that changing breathing habits can be like turning a key in a lock, opening up new possibilities.

The bad news is that breathing habits are so automatic that they are difficult to change.

Having a coach can make a huge difference.

Just imagine if you could have a coach AND a systematic way to apply breathing principles to your practice every day.

And imagine if you could do this while learning from other musicians and supporting one another to banish your bad habits and master the nuances of breath control once and for all!

That's exactly what we are going to do in this first-ever, 8-week breathing course.

How can Master the Breath help?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Meet Your New Professor

I’m Aralee Dorough, Principal Flutist of the Houston Symphony.

I see so many players who are about 3/4 of the way to being exceptional, but very few who are able to convey the total command of their instrument in a slam-dunk play.

I love giving musicians the tools and feedback they need to put together ALL the pieces of their musical journey! That’s why I’ve put together my best resources, tips, and lessons to help you master your breath control and learn how to play tension-free with ease.

Are you ready to take control of your breath and your performance?

Have more questions? Not sure if Master the Breath is right for you?
